earth overview

Workbench’s newest range for the corporate furniture market celebrates the earth’s untainted materials and pairs them with a unique Workbench table design. The table ranges from beautiful stone to lively waney edge solid timber tops with our distinctive fluted base. Designed with circular design front and centre the materials for the Earth range have been selected to give clients maximum opportunity to reuse and repurpose and minimal environmental impact if the tables need to be recycled.

design brief

Earth is designed to take a step back from complex integrated technology so we can take a step forward with its design circularity. By embracing natural materials and simple design construction the table tops are easy to resurface and refinish. Technology is encouraged to be mounted to the under side of the table perimeter.

features & finishes

Tops with square or radiused corners, fluted bases and perimeter mounted technology accessories. The Earth range has its own dedicated range of storage credenzas with suited finishes to match the table range. Finishes include tops in stone or solid timber with bases in natural or dark stained American oak veneers.

sustainability

Earth has been designed in hardwearing materials designed to maximise the product lifespan. This provides an opportunity to introduce a wide range of natural and sustainable materials into the design to suit a clients requirements. The Earth range is supplied with a calculated carbon footprint of the product as well future avoided carbon calculations if the client reuses the product at the end of service.

environmental impact

At Workbench we calculate our carbon footprint for scope 1, 2 & full scope 3. All our products are designed to meet our waste hierarchy policy of reduce, reuse, repurpose & recycle. Workbench is in a unique position to be able to design for reuse at the start of a products life and Earth encapsulates this.

scope

Meeting suites at multiple locations

Workbench worked with The Furniture Practice to provide a unique set of meeting tables for Argyll. The company has a large profolio of office spaces that provide users with multiple unique meeting spaces. The brief from the client was to supply a product that would be completely unique to them, the Workbench Earth table was the perfect design to deliver this. We worked with the client and the architect to source and then select the best waney edge solid timbers for the table surface. The timber selected for this Earth table was a waney edge Scottish Elm with an oiled finish. The natural stone and solid timber materials for the Earth range give clients maximum opportunity to reuse and repurpose and minimal environmental impact if the tables need to be recycled.
